Best Backyard Trampoline

There comes a point in every kid’s life where they want a trampoline in the backyard. It’s pretty easy to understand why, as trampolines provide quite a bit of entertainment and fun for kids of almost any age. We’re always looking for ways to keep our kids engaged, active, and outdoors as well, and a trampoline happens to check all of these boxes. On the surface, they make for a fine purchase and seemingly have very few drawbacks. We know, however, that this isn’t always the case. Every purchase comes with its own unique set of issues and a trampoline is no different.

For starters, while there are different sizes of trampolines they do tend to be quite large in surface area. There’s a chance that your yard may not have the space to house a trampoline and if it does, it’s going to take up what little space you do have for entertaining and enjoying the space for yourself. The second aspect of trampolines that some may find prohibitive is the cost. Without putting too much thought into it, most will assume that the cost of a trampoline is quite substantive. Lastly, there’s a worry about trampoline safety. This is something we’ve all seen and been a part of at some point in our lives. Accidents do happen, but it’s best to prevent them before they have a chance of taking place.

While all of these concerns are worth considering, not all of them happen to ring true anymore. While size may be an issue for some, we’ve progressed to the point where almost any size trampoline is now available on the market. Regarding cost, there is now also a price point that should be comfortable for most. While trampolines are never going to be the cheapest backyard accessory, you can now find quality models for under $300, which hasn’t always been the case. Finally, strides have been made to quell safety concerns as well. The traditional model with a thin pad covering metal piping is no longer the standard model, and there are safeguards in place to protect kids from themselves.

What all this amounts to is the fact that while trampolines may not be for everyone, great strides have been made in making them more accessible, affordable, and quite a bit safer. While some may still have their hang-ups regarding trampolines, we think they’re a fun and affordable way to keep your kids active, weather permitting. With that in mind, we thought we would take a look at our three favorite backyard trampolines and discuss what they bring to the table. One has a different function than the other two more traditional types, but they’re all affordable, safe, and should fit in the yard. Here are our favorite backyard trampolines.

Best Backyard Trampoline

Stamina 36-Inch Folding Trampoline

The first trampoline we chose to take a look at will provide you, the parent, with a lot more value than your kids. Being only 36” in diameter, it’s clearly not large enough for multiple kids to be playing on. This is actually an exercise trampoline that will provide a great alternative to any other home machines you may have. What makes this a fine option is that you can use it indoors or out, it will allow you to work on things and try new exercises, and certainly won’t break the bank.

It can hold up to 250 lbs. and will be able to provide you with something you may not currently have at home. What makes this little trampoline so great is that it gives you the option to have a very quick workout at home while the kids are around. While this may seem like a simple idea, for a lot of busy folks this can be looked at as a luxury; to not have to pack up and head to the gym when the workout itch needs to be scratched.

If you’re looking for a cheap workout alternative that can be used indoors or out, won’t break the bank, and provides a great way to squeeze in a quick workout then this is the trampoline for you.

Skywalker Trampolines 15-Feet Jump N' Dunk Trampoline

From one extreme to the next, we subsequently decided to get back to basics and take a look at this 15-foot beauty from Skywalker Trampolines. This is going to be the trampoline in the traditional sense, in that is can house a slew of kids and keep them entertained within the confines of your large backyard for hours. What makes this one a little different than those of the past is the safety factor. New trampolines have made strides in protecting kids, and this one is no different. With a net that completely surrounds the trampoline, no one will be falling over the side on their head and doing any serious damage. All the kids will remain contained in the area while meeting all the safety standards that are out there.

Skywalker Trampolines 15

With the addition of a basketball hoop, this large trampoline will provide hours and hours of fun for kids of almost any age. While the 15-foot size may be prohibitive to some, we feel that a big model like this really maximizes the fun for all those involved. While being quite large, you can’t say the same about the cost. It’s not so costly that it’ll stop many from considering it. if you’re looking for a big trampoline for the yard to keep the kids active, then look no further than this model here.

Skywalker Trampolines 12-Feet Jump N' Dunk Trampoline

The last trampoline we wanted to take a look at is also from Skywalker Trampoline. This, like the one before it, boasts a basketball hoop as well as a net surrounding the entire circumference of the trampoline. These two are identical models with only two differences, the price and the size. This particular model is only 12-feet in diameter. If you’re a little more space-challenged than others, that three feet can actually make a big difference. It may just give you enough room to do other things with your backyard if you so choose.

The other major difference is the cost. Coming in at a shade under $250, this model is slightly more affordable than its larger counterpart. If you don’t have an unlimited budget and an extra acre of space in the backyard to work with, then this is the model that is best suited to you.

Best Toddler Trampoline

As parents, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to keep our kids occupied, healthy, and having fun. One of the problems we often run into here is that we are looking for something so elaborate and new that it doesn’t exist. Not to suggest we spend our time inventing products, but perhaps we can be too picky during this arduous selection process. While this holy trinity may not always be easy to achieve, we endure nonetheless, and occasionally we stumble across something that works and checks those three boxes. We feel like we have stumbled upon yet another fine product that will keep the kids occupied and happy, so we thought it best to share it with you.

A product we forget about frequently that kids love is the humble trampoline. For kids to be happy, especially toddlers, it doesn’t have to be large and elaborate and occupy your entire backyard either. There are now plenty of options out there for toddlers that don’t take up too much room and are safe and fun for them. It’s the simplest of toys, if you want to call it that, but kids do love them and they check off the three boxes we previously discussed. We thought it best to take a look at three of our favourites that we’ve come across and extend that message to the masses.

As always, we’ve chosen three trampolines here that cater to three slightly different types, each one having a few unique features and coming in at a different price point. None of these are going to break the bank with the most expensive coming in at a little over $100, and given the sheer volume of entertainment value to be gleaned for your kids there is quite a bit of value here. Again, we’re all looking for something to keep our kids occupied, healthy, and entertained, and we believe that these little trampolines are more than sufficient in performing these tasks. With that said, let’s take a look at the three best toddler trampolines and what each one brings to the table.

Little Tikes 3' Trampoline

The first trampoline for toddlers we wanted to take a look at was this offering from Little Tikes. When it comes to products from Little Tikes you typically know what you’re getting yourself into. Their products are predictably reliable and this three-foot trampoline is no exception to that policy. This is a pretty simple little toy, but it will be more than enough to keep your kid occupied. It comes with a bar for stability and safety’s sake, and will help those toddlers on the cusp of gaining their full mobility. Not only that, but it will act as a safeguard for those who are a little bit rambunctious as well; not something to be overlooked.

Little Tikes 3' Trampoline

At the end of the day, while perfectly simple this trampoline is well-suited for any home and any budget. Coming in at a paltry price, it’s not going to break the bank for anyone and will offer a tremendous amount of value in terms of entertainment for the cost. If you have a kid who needs to burn off a lot of energy and you need to keep them in your field of view, this is a fine option. Anyone with a few extra dollars in their pocket would be well served by spending it on this little trampoline for their kids. It’s simple, but very effective.

The Original Toy Company Fold & Go Trampoline

The second trampoline we decided to take a look at, from the Original Toy Company, is quite similar to the first from Little Tikes, but has a few notable differences. Like the first trampoline, this one is also three-feet in diameter and also has a bar attachment that allows for safety and stability. The major difference here is that this one holds quite a bit more weight, with a maximum capacity of 150 lbs. What makes that noteworthy is that it can obviously cater to larger children, that and it makes a fine addition to any family who may have a special needs child to care for. The extra weight allows those special needs children who are a little older the option to exercise and have fun.

The Original Toy Company Fold & Go Trampoline

The other part about this trampoline we really like is its ability to fold up. For those who have a limited amount of space and don’t have the ability to leave it out, this makes for an extremely practical option. While this trampoline is a little more expensive than the first offering, it’s still quite affordable coming in at under $90. For those looking for something that folds up and can hold larger kids, this is a great option for you.

Skywalker Trampolines Round Bouncer Trampoline

The final option we wanted to give you is this offering from Skywalker Trampolines. This one is built purely for fun and will be a very fun option for any kid. What makes this one a little different is that, first off, it’s a foot wider in diameter allowing kids to have more room to jump around. The second major difference is that this trampoline has a net surrounding it for safety. What makes this so great is that you can let your kid have a ball in there without ever worrying about them injuring themselves. This is, as most parents can attest to, a unique feature that can be pretty tough to find. The other safety feature it has is that it uses bands instead of springs so that no fingers can get pinched in there. Kids seem to find a way to get their fingers caught in everything, so this is quite nice.

Skywalker Trampolines Round Bouncer Trampoline

While this is the most expensive option of the three it only barely eclipses the $100 mark, making it still quite affordable. If you’re looking for a fun option for your kids that’s quite safe than this is a fine option. It brings every element we’ve been discussing to the table without being prohibitively expensive.

Best Rectangular Trampoline

There are myriad options when buying a trampoline; something you’ve probably realized after reading a few of our posts on the topic. Often times, the choice you make simply comes down to aesthetics or whatever the cheapest option is that will work for you family and yard. There are times, however, when the shape of the trampoline must be taken into account due to limitations brought on by the shape or lack of space in your yard. With a lot of space, almost any circular trampoline will do, but with a more angular yard a little more thought is required. This is something we have thought about and why we wanted to discuss and present the best rectangular trampolines on the market.

A universal truth is that not all yards are built equally. Some are vast expanses of greenery and shrubbery with space for 1000 trampolines. Others are sparse, hardened, urban cityscapes with nary a centimeter to waste. If you happen to fall into the latter category of those two polar opposites, possibly allowing for some latitude between the two, then a rectangular trampoline is going to be the best use of your limited space. What a rectangular trampoline can do is work within the confines of an angular yard and allow you to move it about and tuck it away in a corner when necessary. A circular trampoline ends up having a larger footprint due to the fact that it can’t be “tucked away” anywhere. Having a trampoline be able to sit in a corner will go a long way in allowing you to still enjoy your yard while giving your kids the joys that come along with trampoline ownership.

With all things we review and discuss, each of these trampolines brings something a little different to the table in addition to being at different price points. They’re three different sizes too, which is something you’ll need to take into account before taking the plunge here. They’re also all safety forward, with each one having a net surrounding the trampoline to keep the patrons of said trampoline safe and secure. If you’re on the hunt for a trampoline that will work with your confined and angular yard, then one of these will most certainly do the trick. With that in mind, here are the best rectangular trampolines on the market.

Skywalker Rectangle Trampoline with Enclosure, 15-Feet

The first trampoline we chose to look at was this one from Skywalker, an extremely reliable name in the business. Along with the other two trampolines we chose to discuss, this one comes with a large enclosure to keep everyone involved safe and secure from falling off. Going back a few years this was a huge issue surrounding trampolines, one that has now largely been eradicated. We also appreciated the construction quality of this particular model, as it has been built with galvanized steel reinforced with T-sockets to keep the frame sturdy and prevent it from structural twisting. The surrounding pad is also UV protected, ensuring no child will burn themselves should they happen to be bouncing on an especially warm day.

Skywalker Rectangle Trampoline with Enclosure

While not the cheapest model on the market, it’s certainly not the most expensive option out there either. What you can rely on here is that this is a safe, fun trampoline that won’t cause you to ever worry about your child’s safety. The peace of mind here is important and something we don’t take for granted. It withstood our rigorous testing and came out no worse for wear. If you’re looking for a quality and reliable square trampoline to fit into your backyard, look no further than this guy here.

Upper Bounce Easy Assemble "Spacious" Rectangular Trampoline with Fiber Flex Enclosure Feature

The second model we wanted to talk about was this one from Upper Bounce. This ended up being the most expensive model, but once we delve into a few of the details it should be easy to see why this is the case. This is also the largest trampoline of the three we reviewed, so that’s something to bear in mind. With that said, what makes it more expensive than the other two have to do with the construction of this model, which is made with heavy-duty black steel, and a top-flex pole construction system. All of this ensure the safety, reliability, and quality of this trampoline. Not only that, but the mats are sewn in such a way that they won’t tear after years of use and abuse.

Upper Bounce Easy Assemble

The primary element we came to like about this model is that fact that assembly is so simple. Often times, assembling a trampoline can be a real bother, but this one spared us of all the headaches one would typically associate with such a task. Construction was self-explanatory and took very little time. You’ll be able to keep the kids at bay by setting this bad boy up in minutes.

If you’re looking for something on the larger side of things and have a few extra bucks kicking around to allow for an upgrade, then we highly recommend this trampoline. It ticks off all the boxes in regards to safety, fun, and reliability.

Skywalker Trampolines Square Trampoline and Enclosure with Spring Pad

The last rectangular trampoline we wanted to discuss was this one, also from Skywalker. What makes this one a little different than the first is the price, coming in at a slightly lower number, as well as the addition of the spring pad. What makes this a great piece of the trampoline is that it’s there to protect kids as they are climbing on and off. With springs, fingers and toes have the tendency to get caught, as kids aren’t always cautious in their excitement to play. It’s not a major addition they will notice, but it’s something the parents will certainly come to appreciate.

Skywalker Trampolines Square Trampoline and Enclosure with Spring Pad

The rest of the trampoline is built quite similar to the other Skywalker we reviewed, so you can trust its construction, quality of parts, and its reliability. This is a brand that knows exactly what they’re doing when it comes to trampolines, and this model is certainly no exception.
