Best Table Tennis Robot
If you’re someone who fancies themselves as quite the ping pong player, then you’re probably always looking for a few ways to get better. Naturally, the best way to do this is through repetition and practice; the hallmarks for improving in any sport. Typically, one would do this with another person at the opposite end of the table to act as their foil. Playing as frequently as possible is the best way to get better at anything, and table tennis is no exception.

But what happens when there is no one there for you to play? I suppose one could try the Forrest Gump method of turning one side of the table upwards and hitting towards targets. It’s always struck me as a touch archaic, but to each their own. Other than that, you’re probably out of luck. Well today we have found the perfect new partner for those days when your unreliable friends can’t offer you the competition you crave, and that is the table tennis robot.
No, the table tennis robot isn’t a sentient bot that will hurl insults your way after decimating you in a match (one can dream). A table tennis robot is a small machine that will send balls your way at various speeds, times, locations in order for you to be able to bone up when no one is around. These machines are a great way to improve your game without having to lure someone over to your home with the siren song of beer and pizza.
As per usual, we have found three that we quite like, each offering something a little different than the last. All three of these perform the basic function of firing out balls quite admirably, but as they grow in price they also grow in features. There should be something here for everyone from the beginner to the veteran at the top of their game. With that in mind, here are the three best table tennis robots on the market.
The first one we thought we would take a look at is the Topspin model from iPong. What makes this model unique, as the name would imply, is that all the balls that are being spit out come at you with topspin. Why makes this feature unique and coveted is that in the course of game play, the majority of balls are going to come at you with topspin.
Being able to master returning a topspin shot will go a long way in making you a better player. The machine also allows to adjust for speed and spin rates, which allows you to increase these two things as you get better.
Not only that, but the machine can be programmed to spit out anywhere from 12 to 70 balls per minute, while being able to hold up to 110. This bad boy is battery powered and takes little to no time to get set up and get swinging. iPong has put out a great machine that’s affordable and actually focuses on training and improving those who use it.
We can’t recommend this machine enough. There are a lot of imitators out there, and you’ll notice that we’ve chosen to review three different machines from iPong as we have a lot of faith in their technology and quality.
The second robot we want to talk about is, again, from iPong. This time, the machine is quite a bit simpler, which can be found in its functions as well as its price. While it doesn’t feature the oscillations or varying speeds, it admirably pumps balls out at a rate of 30 per minute while having a capacity of 25 balls. One of the other features we quite enjoyed was the size. As the name suggests, it’s quite small and won’t take up too many space in your abode and will be very easy to store.
We felt that this machine is a great way to go from a beginner to the next level. Again, it doesn’t boast the most features here but it does exactly what is advertised reliably.
If you’re looking to get in a number of repetitions and pin down a shot motion that will allow you to beat your friends, then this is the machine too. This is also a great machine if you’re simply looking to have some fun or play some games with. It won’t break the bank but will provide hours of good times.
while the other two robots we’ve reviewed thus far are a lot of fun for a lot of people, this last one from iPong is truly for the table tennis lover. This robot does everything and more, while being wirelessly connected with new and improved software over last year’s model. What this machine does is nothing short of fantastic. It holds up to 100 balls and can shoot balls out at an adjustable frequency of 12 to 70 per minute. Not only that, but it can be adjusted to oscillate as well as mix in topspin and backspin balls, both of which are speed adjustable.
This robot has it all, and while it does have the price to match, is a fantastic purchase for those looking to take their game to the next level. Need some work on a particular shot that has been holding you back? Well this robot will be able to solve that in no time. This robot is going to be a ton of fun and a great way to improve your game. What we love the most is that given how many features it boasts and how adjustable everything is, it’s able to take anyone’s game to the next level. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, the V300 from iPong will be a riot and a great way to improve your skills.
